I am such an idiot...

Okay, not *exactly* the same situation, but I cannot believe what I have done...

Last week, I got ADSL installed at my home (finally!!). After 8 years of living off mobile 3G internet, this was a great luxury. I installed my wifi-modem-router-thingo with ease and was so excited to finally undust my laptop and refresh the antivirus software.

I then decided to upload all 6000 picture files from my laptop to Flickr.

Guess what happened next.

I decided to do a massive clean up of my Flickr account, and I DELETED HEAPS OF MY SEWING PHOTOS - THE PHOTOS EMBEDDED ON THIS SEWING BLOG.

Today I got an email from 'Emma' who was referring to my blog for advice on 'Anna dress' and she kindly emailed to let know that lots of my photos weren't working.

I am so upset!!! Years of photos have been deleted from my sewing blog and I cannot recover them, because after the upload to Flickr was completed, I double-deleted the photos off my laptop.

If anyone knows how to recover double-deleted files from a laptop or recover deleted photos from Flickr, let me know.... but I am not very hopeful at this stage :(

EDIT: I was able to save my photos from and reuploaded them to the blog.
Lucky I was only using the 'embed from Flickr' method from late 2013, otherwise there would be so much more collateral damage! Only one post couldn't be recovered. Not bad for a blog that has over 150 entrees. Thank you everyone for helping out! xoxoxox

'Handmade by Neeno' - at Camberwell Sunday Market, 5th July.

Hashtag: declutter, movinghouse, freshstart, minimalist, thriftshop, bargain, handmade, preloved, fashion, vintage, retro; LOL.

I am releasing my beautiful handmade dresses into the world... well, into Melbourne at least. Come see me and my friends at Camberwell Sunday Market this coming Sunday at Stall 210.

All handmade dresses are priced to sell, so if you're a size 8 lady who loves retro and vintage style dresses, come and get them. Most of my dresses are cotton sateen, floral, lined and have handpicked zips, waist-stays and gathered skirts.

As you all know, I have been moving around a lot this year and I'm happy to announce I have found a home I am ready to settle into. Said home unfortunately does not have an oversized BIR like my last, so sadly I have had to declutter.

I've been decluttering since March! It feels so good. Half my RTW wardrobe went to the op-shop; I hope someone is showing all my too-short/too-bright/too-tight party dresses a good time!! And now it's time for me to let go of my handmade dresses and maybe make some pocket money to go buy more fabric.

Hope to see you on Sunday!

Handmade items for the 'bargain bin' $6 or 2 for $10
Also selling Tony Bianco high heels (preloved and unworn)

Sewing life on hold...

So I moved into my rental in April and I unpacked a little. Soon I'll be moving again! Into my "permanent" residence.

The rental has been fun. It had plenty of room to set up a "lady lair" sewing room... but in an effort to reduce cleaning at the end of lease, I didn't set one up.

For the time being, all my fabric and sewing stuff are packed neatly under the stairs... along with most of my kitchen stuff. I literally unpacked 2 champagne glasses, 2 wine glasses, 2 plates - had to cancel a dinner party when I realised that my guests would be eating takeaway on paper plates.

Been looking on Houzz for inspiration and came across the photo below - hahaha... mine would be all labelled 'floral'!

Can't wait to get back into sewing!

57 dresses.

Moving is such a pain in the ass.

I'll be moving the week after Easter, and I've been diligently decluttering. Amazing how much stuff you hoard over time. I have trawled through eight years worth of crap.

Why do I own a Super Mario costume?! What is this awful houndstooth and leopard print WIP? THROW!

For someone who lives alone, I sure have a lot of stuff... so far I've donated two sets of crockery, a sack full of handbags and 5kgs of party dresses to the op-shop.

I have boxed up my sewing room *single tear falls from eye*; my books, DVDs, photo albums; my entire kitchen (except for 2 wine glasses, 2 champagne glasses, 2 bowls, 2 protein shakers and a couple of forks - priorities); and 85% of my wardrobe.

All my un-worn handmade dresses have gone into a Daiso space bag. Sadly, out of the approx 60 handmade garments that I have made in my time, I only wear a handful of them regularly so I packed most of them away, leaving only floral Anna and floral Vogue 8469 cos they're my favourites. My fabric stash filled a jumbo 104L box, hehe, so proud.

About to be sucked up!
Sealed. Now what?

Review of Daiso "compression bag" - it's great.. but I recommend getting the smaller size so you can fit them into a box after you seal them. I got the largest size there (1 meter x 1.1 meter) and now I have three giant-af bags that weigh about 5kgs each under my bed. No idea how I'm going to get them from one house the other! Having said that, the large one makes a great garbage bag.

I'll keep you posted on my moving adventures...

Where's Neeno?

I'm so sorry that it's been over 3 months since my last post.

Just a quick update to explain my absence:
  • Christmas/New Years
  • work
  • moving house
I am in the process of relocating... to where? I don't know just yet, but I've had to keep the house tidy for inspections, and soon will have to bundle all my sewing apparatus and fabric stash into boxes; so I predict no sewing till after April.

In the meantime, please keep in touch on Twitter, Instagram, email.
